Post Project
Looking back at the project from start to finish, I can clearly say it was a enjoyable experience bar troublesome or stressful times. The actual project undergo many changes throughout, some worse, some better yet after all I hope my team can look back and be proud of this result no matter what. For example the comparison shots below represent how the team and idea grew and matured throughout, each individual contributing in their own way.
As you can see, the idea itself was refined and built upon multiple times throughout and all for the better. Each member creating individual assets to fill the scene. Comparing how we also thought about the key aspect of mood, the difference is night and day. Overall the improvement was evident throughout.
Looking back at how I personally think the level could improve now with more time. Outdoor scene dressing would have been a big plus, unfortunately this didn't occur but would have added so much to the scene itself I believe as mike stated. Further more, having vertex paint for the walls would have been added bonus. Also the main issue I would change is the lack of diversity in the structural build. Having only one main wall variant and wall made the scene become too repetitive. And looking at Victorian houses you can see the difference between walls. Like so, this demonstrates the actual variation. Maybe this could have been achieved on a smaller build, something I would definitely do if given the chance again.
Yet after all of this i can say I have clearly learnt more than I anticipated, from designer, texturing processes and time management and management in general. As well as lighting and composition, though much still leaves room for practice and refinement. Such as the contribution links below.
Particles Contribution
Layout Contribution
Lighting contribution
Materials contribution
Overall a stressful but enjoyable project! Also re-enforced some character itches that need summer to scratch. If anything this project has now made lighting something I found extremely enjoyable and maybe even something to think about.
