Asset and prop primary references.
Texture references (primary). These also lend towards the colour scheme of the theater in areas such as the gold and red etc. On the right lies the environment textures if required.
Secondary main hall reference. This is the area in which I'm unsure of, the scale and amount of seats required could be quite high. Yet it got me thinking more so about how we need to think about the rest of the scene just as much, what is there after this? Looking at penny dreadful, other areas could be Bars, dressing rooms, lounges etc. Yet this is where I began to think, what if we made it a sort of house or mad house, of course keeping the stage within it. Such as rooms for different actors whom share the stage? A ventriloquist, hypnotist, poet and such? then each room would have a story, a different feel. Colour changes, fabric changes, lighting and such. So far I'm not sure on what the main selling point is but the stage? Is it enough? Time will tell.
Secondly when the idea of making the ordinary, extraordinary, is a applied this spurs more unique ideas. Looking at The Prestige, an idea of magicians, then with added mystery with scientific inventions that clone. Ordinary to extraordinary. There has to be something weather through narrative or visual means. But personally more for the sake of fun. Are we creating mark for mark, or putting our own mark on it?
Some character ref. Thinking magician as the main asset. Yet how would he be implemented into this scene? For the lack of knowledge in animating the result will be stiff. So maybe frozen in time etc.
