Our first week as a team seems to have been going really well. We've mobilized relatively quickly, deciding on a theme and everyone chipping in and getting started on the work.
Everyone was tasked to come up with moodboards to start some idea generation. I created a "general" moodboard that included exterior reference despite the fact that we had agreed we would be most likely focused on an interior scene. This was just to try and get a more overall impression of the architecture of the time period.

General Moodboard |
After just starting to get things, I noticed that a lot of the group had covered a lot of ground in terms of what a stage looked like. As such I wanted to look into more specific details. I focused on lighting fixtures because I knew that getting the extravagant look we will be going for will require great lighting and making sure that lighting looks plausible will be very important. Researching this took me to a bunch of interesting pages linked on the "Link Repository" page.

Lighting Fixtures Moodboard |
As everyone was mostly finishing up with their moodboards they starting focusing on concepting props that we knew would be necessary. Unfortunately for me, concepting is most certainly one of my weakest areas and so I neglected it too much this week. Nevertheless, this is a very first pass exploring a very narrow section of the possibility space. This will, of course, be explored as the project progresses, most likely into next week.

Also this week, I started on working out a first pass on the naming conventions and file system we'll be using to keep everything organised and us working efficiently. A lot, however, will depend on what processes and workflows we'll be using to generate our assets. As such, I'll leave this relatively open for now, ready to be changed as time progresses. I want to make sure I don't impose something top down that forces people to work in a way that is not comfortable for them; I would much prefer work with the team to find something that everyone will find convenient.
